Windy Knob Farms Fleece and More...

Windy Knob Farms is excited to announce the arrival of its Corriedale sheep in June of 2009.    An original cross between Lincolns and Merinos, the Corriedale is a true dual purpose sheep that does well on pasture and excels in its quality of fleece that is coveted by hand spinners for its softness and durability, in addition to producing a flavorful quality meat carcass.   The fleeces will be protected throughout the year due to the sheep being jacketed; this helps to keep out vegetable matter and protects the fleece from fading due to UV exposure.  This maintains the durability and rich color achieved through premium breeding and genetics from across the country.   Our fleeces are then skirted and inspected to provide only the best raw fleece to our customers; satisfaction guaranteed.

Windy Knob Farms was able to purchase several bloodlines from proven winners.  The quality of our fleece shows the value of good genetics and proper flock management.  Our flock contains a wide variety of Corriedales from the registered Whites to the grays and variegated browns, all the way to the truly special and rare Moorit fleeces.  Staple length ranges from 3.5 to 6 inches and spinning numbers range from 54 up to 60 skeins.

In addition to the fine fleeces we offer, we will have a variety of other products available including quality pasture raised lamb, sheep hides perfect for a bedside rug, and perhaps even a few finished fleece products such as hats, socks and blankets right from Ewe to You!
